The Varsity Women’s golf team capped off an extremely successful season on October 29, with a third place finish in the state championships. The Crusaders were led by head coach Mike Rismiller. The captains for the team were sophomores Ellen Smith and Caroline O’Neil; these two led the team to a 6-1 conference record and a 15-2 overall record.
The team returned 8 of 11 girls from last year.
“Having so many girls return and great girls join the team this year made us all really close and helped us have our most successful season. Many close friendships were formed and the season was a great experience,” said O’Neil.
The girls displayed a dominating performance in conference play. They finished as regular season champs, which provided them a boost in the conference tournament. In the conference tournament the girls were triumphant, coming in first place. The tournament MVP was O’Neil.
