The library staff is committed to teaching classes how to answer important questions on any given topic and to develop skills to finding in-depth information. Research papers or projects are the most common way we teach these skills,across all disciplines. Students learn how to analyze,interpret,and evaluate information using research methodology. We work with students individually,in groups in the library or electronically in classrooms.

In order to be a good writer, one must READ. This is our philosophy. Our staff encourages reading, whether the latest YA , graphic novel or philosophy book.Our instruction includes: using Noodletools to help with outlines, notecards and sources, proofreading a student's paper and checking MLA citation.Our goal is to support the student's desire to write a great paper! We welcome students to peruse the Purdue Online Writing Lab as an additional resource.

Instructional technology is a field that utilizes technology tools to enhance instruction and learning. Some tools we use include: Padlet,Kahoot,Noodletools, Slack,Swivel,Remind,Google Apps,QR codes.

We teach how to cite sources using proper MLA and APA style. Our library introduces the CRAAP test-an acronym for criteria to decide if information is appropriate for your research. We engage the students in discussion about plagiarism using Goblin Threat-an online quiz game. We use the Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University as our reference for citation help.

Student volunteers are always welcome to help in the library before school,during lunch or after school. This year we have two awesome students helping with tasks such as: weeding, shelving, shifting books and other duties. It is a great way to see if a being a librarian is the career for you!
