"[Why] did God pick you to graduate in the Cardinal Gibbons Class of 2016? Perhaps it’s because He needs you, you and all your wonderful gifts and talents that have such potential for good. He wanted you to become that person in the mission statement, because He knew all that person could accomplish. The people who love you made sure you have every opportunity to succeed when you leave this auditorium; you have a responsibility to them to make their sacrifices worthwhile."
