Celebrating Gibbons Athletics
rgarbarine
The goal of the event, noted Athletic Director Todd Schuler, is to celebrate all of the great mission, program-building, and leadership activities we've been working on this year with our students.

At the second annual All-Crusader Awards Show (ACAS), the Cardinal Gibbons community recognized varsity student-athletes, coaches, and educators for living out the school's mission in the classroom, community, and competition. The ceremony, modeled after ESPN's ESPY Awards, featured skits, performances, videos as well as the presentation of awards honoring service, leadership, team culture, athletic achievement, and even social media prowess. The awards range from the Spirit of Sport Award and Most Encouraging Athlete to the Most Supportive Team and the Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

The event, held on a recent Sunday evening in the Main Stage Theater, is hosted and produced by students. It also included a pre-ceremony gathering of all invited guests, replete with live interviews with award nominees. Masters of Ceremonies Joe Mann '17, Jack Sabye '17, and Julia Ryan '17 kept the show moving at a quick pace. The evening, however, belonged to the student-athletes and their achievements this year.

The goal of the event, noted Athletic Director Todd Schuler, is to celebrate all of the great mission, program-building, and leadership activities we've been working on this year with our students. "It's a rare night when all of our teams get to come together and celebrate each other," Schuler added.

The highlight of the ACAS, he continued, is the presentation of the Spirit of Sport Award, which is given to athletes who personify the ideals and mission of our athletics program. This year's recipients of the award are Annie Pierce and Gage Trenum.
