Associate Director of Retreats

Cardinal Gibbons High School is seeking applicants for the Associate Director of Retreats Position, starting in the fall of 2015. This position is a full-time leadership position that works in the Department of Spiritual Life, and reports to the Assistant Principal for Spiritual Life.

Cardinal Gibbons High School offers overnight retreats for all four grade levels, and this position will be responsible for leading the Mosaic (sophomore) and Quest (junior) retreat programs. Responsibilities include the management of a successful retreat program, formation and mentorship of student leadership teams, collaboration with adult retreat leaders and communication with parents. Teaching and adult faith formation opportunities are possible growth opportunities in this position.

The successful candidate for this position:

  • will have experience in organizing, planning and leading retreats in a high school or college setting
  • has demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring young people
  • has experience in managing budgets, working with retreat facilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • will be creative, energetic and collaborative in seeking faith formation opportunities for the Cardinal Gibbons community
  • will be committed to continuing and growing a strong Catholic identity within the school
  • must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have a bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Catholic Theology, and be knowledgeable and passionate about our Catholic faith

Theology Teacher

Cardinal Gibbons High School is seeking applicants for a full-time Theology teaching position starting in the fall of 2015.

This individual:

  • should have relevant background and experience in teaching Theology in a secondary school.
  • should demonstrate proficiency with new technology and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom lessons.
  • should possess the ability to contribute to other facets of school life beyond the classroom
  • should demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with the other members of the Theology department and the whole school in academics, extra-curricular activities, and in furthering the mission of our school.
  • should be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

  • should demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with the other members of the Foreign Language department and the whole school in academics, extra-curricular activities, and in furthering the mission of our school.
