More than 40 sophomore and junior students joined 10 educators for the first Girls Retreat on Monday. The theme of the day was "Priceless: You are priceless in the eyes of God." The day was filled with meaningful conversations about authentic friendship and wholehearted living through faith.

"I think this is such an awesome thing for Gibbons to get started, and I also loved how we met people that we would normally never talk to," said sophomore Catherine Lorelle. "I thought it was an amazing day, and can't wait for the next one."

Throughout the day, the girls took part in small groups named after Catholic female saints, heard two talks given by educators, and enjoyed self-care stations focusing on yoga, meditation, and mental health.

"I am so thankful that I was able to go on this retreat, and I want to get more involved in the planning crew and go on more retreats during my Gibbons career," said sophomore Brooke Lucas.

Retreat Coordinator Crista Anders said it was an incredible day for both the students and educators.

"It was so great to see the girls relaxed and in the moment," she said.

Gibbons plans to host more Girls Retreats during the upcoming academic year.
