Senior Spotlight: Katie Weimer

Katie Weimer poses for a senior portrait on a set of stairs.

What activities/teams are you involved in at Gibbons?
Varsity Softball, Varsity Field Hockey, Student Council, Gibbons Leadership Institute (GLI), Justice & Equity for Students (JEFS)

What is your favorite Gibbons memory?
It is really difficult to pinpoint just one memory from a place that has shaped who I am these past four years, but I think many of my fondest memories were built within the hours I spent on the athletic fields here and the thousands of people I have been able to meet through student life and student events. The best and most rewarding part of being a senior is getting to look back and truly see how many people you influenced and sparked a passion for the Gibbons community within.

How have you integrated the values of faith, service, and leadership into your life?
Gibbons has really helped me hone in on my ability to serve my community through generosity, empathy, and compassion. Through these experiences, leadership and faith have actively followed suit. Wherever you are at Gibbons, each aspect of our mission can be seen and can be vibrantly amplified through the commitment of our educators, admin, and coaches.

Any advice for the Class of 2024?
Take time to really enjoy the people and the ambiance around you. There is no other place or experience like Gibbons. It is one of a kind, and senior year flies by in an instant. You’ll miss those moments unless you truly learn to capture the beauty and simplicity within them.

What’s next?
Next year I will major in English and minoring in secondary education at Xavier University! GO, MUSKETEERS!
