This laboratory course is intended to prepare the student to earn college credit by passing the AP test in chemistry. This course is presented at college level and at an accelerated pace. This second-year chemistry course will present first year topics in greater detail and will additionally explore solubility, equilibrium, weak acids and bases, buffers, thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry, complex ions, analysis, and nuclear chemistry. The course is intended to fully cover all topics in college freshman year chemistry, but will not include organic chemistry. AP Chemistry is recommended for students with a serious interest in science or those who are considering health care careers. Students will be responsible to complete a summer assignment for this course. By enrolling in this course, students will automatically be enrolled in the AP Chemistry Lab.
