Creative Writing I Honors: Fiction and Poetry
This writing-intensive course employs a draft-feedback-revision cycle where each student creates a portfolio that comprises some or all of the following: short, flash, and microfiction; the opening chapters of a novel; a comic book, graphic novel, or manga script; and both formal and free verse poetry. Some of this work occurs within the collaborative storytelling context of a Dungeons & Dragons adventure. Students submit their work to the school literary magazine, contests, and magazines such as Teen Ink. This is a semester 1 course. It is not a prerequisite for Creative Writing II.
