The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the Church’s Social Teaching. In this course students are to learn how Christ’s concern for others, especially the poor and needy, is present today in the Church’s social teaching and mission. This course focuses on Church teaching with respect to poverty, the environment, and war, as well as the impact of social justice themes in the Gospels as they intersect with crucial public policy debates concerning life issues, prejudice, racism and the right to work.
