The main themes are: exploring data, describing statistics, sampling and experimentation, statistical inference, and hypothesis testing. Basic concepts of probability and normal distributions are studied. Case studies in confidence intervals, correlation, and regression are also examined. Verbal communication, problem solving, and the use of technology are emphasized throughout the year. This is a practice and helpful course for many careers, including the social sciences, business, and engineering.
