Volleyball

A three-time state volleyball MVP, Cardinal Gibbons volleyball alumna Madi Bugg made history as only the second player to reach the 1,000 kills plateau while also securing the school record for career aces. The 2012 graduate was named Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.

Madi is a four-time conference champion who was named the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year twice.

She received Conference Player of the Year and high school All-American honors during her senior year.

A natural leader, Madi served as a team captain during her sophomore, junior, and senior years and played club volleyball at Triangle Volleyball Club.

Madi played at Stanford University, where she was named a three-time All-American and three-time PAC-12 Setter of the Year.

She finished her Stanford career ranked second all-time with 5,014 assists and 121 service aces.  Madi led her team to a overall record of 113 wins against 20 losses while advancing to the NCAA regionals 3 times and the NCAA finals once.

Since graduating from Stanford in 2016, Madi has been a star on the international volleyball circuit, playing for various European clubs in Switzerland, Germany, France, and Italy and now Poland where she plays for the Moya Radomka Lotnisko club.

Madi proudly wears #22 to pay homage to her mother, Robin, a former standout volleyball player at the University of Tennessee.
