Coaches

  • Head Coach

Patricia Alexander was named Head Coach at Cardinal Gibbons in November of 2014.  Alexander has played an instrumental role in the growth of club and high school girls’ lacrosse in the Triangle region over the past decade.  Alexander currently coaches with Carolina Fever, helping Fever grow into a leading club in the Southeast.  Alexander established the Quick Chicks Lacrosse Camp in Raleigh and has led multiple camps and clinics for both club teams and park and recreation groups.  At the high school level, Coach Alexander has amassed a 43-22 record at Needham Broughton over the past 4 years, most recently leading them to a 17-3 record and the NCHSAA Regional Semi-Finals.

A 1994 graduate from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland, Alexander was a four year starter on defense under renowned coach Diane Geppi Aikens. Alexander earned captain and MVP honors both her Junior and Senior years. As a senior she was also named to All-American and All-Maryland teams after leading her team to a final four appearance in College Park, MD.

After graduating from Loyola in 1994 Patricia made the USA Developmental lacrosse team. She also became an assistant coach at the collegiate level coaching for her Alma Mater from 1994-1996. She coached many college lacrosse camps and played for 6 years in Vail, Colorado on club lacrosse teams.

A native of Charlottesville, Va Patricia now lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, Lu, and two children, Taylor and Grant, who have become permanent fixtures on the lacrosse sidelines.
