If you'd like to share your appreciation for a Gibbons Educator, use the form on this page to send a note to any educator on our campus, and we'll present them to our educators this week.
All students and educators are invited to the Gibbons Food Truck Rodeo today during lunch periods! Food trucks will be available on the Piazza during periods 4, 5 and 6. Sorry, parents and members of the public; these food trucks are reserved for Gibbons students and educators only today!
We celebrate all-school Mass during Catholic Schools Week to honor Gibbons Educators who have dedicated many years of service -- 15, 25, 30 and 35 years -- to our school as well as celebrating our school families, alums and friends who have provided their love and support of Catholic education over our 110 and counting years as a school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Today we especially recognize the following educators for their years of dedicated service to our school:
Sisters of Notre Dame, Chardon, OH
Sr. Mary Jean Korejwo - 60 Years Professed
Sister Janet Schemmel - 50 Years of Teaching
Mary Margaret Dowling Award - 25 years
Mike Rogosich ‘94
Father Albert J. Todd Medal - 15 years
Thank you for your years of service to our school community!
Today we honor students, the primary reason for our existence for over 110 years.
DRESS DOWN DAY
Students are allowed to be out of normal Dress Code in celebration of Catholic Schools Week and our 110 year anniversary as long as they are dressed according to the themes below.
During the pep-rally, we will be awarding points to each grade for multiple categories including games and outfits. The points for costumes will begin Friday morning.
We’re dressing as things from our childhood:
Star Wars: May the Force be with you and bring Baby Yoda.
Marvel: Wanna get buff? Be the Hulk.
Disney: It feels like a party every day.
Cartoon Network: Teen Crusaders GO!
Hey! What about a group costume?
Jedi vs. Sith
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
High School Musical
For all dress down days, remember to keep modesty and the school environment in mind. No yoga pants or legging pants. No shorts of skirts more than three inches above the knee. Nike shorts over leggings doesn’t fly. No bare shoulders for guys or girls. Hats are okay only if they’re part of your costume.
