Middle School Leadership Conference

This conference will be led by a select group of current Gibbons students, grades 9-12, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and willingness to serve the school and community in faith, service, and leadership. Our team has organized a one-day conference that explores the definition of leadership, the skills and qualities of leaders, core values, and how students can exemplify these skills through their leadership in the middle school community. Our hope is to spark the growth of leadership in our Catholic middle schools and instill new skills that those students who attend can then share with their school community when they return.

This year we will also be offering a parent social and session on parent engagement, hosted by the Cardinal Gibbons Family Association. They will be offering a light breakfast in addition to a session from 9-11:15 am. They will also offer lunch from 11:15-12:00 PM. You can sign up for any of these opportunities on your child’s registration form.
Conference participants do not need to bring anything to the conference. We will provide each participant with the necessary materials for the day.
Dress code is business casual. Boys should wear a collared shirt with khaki-type pants or shorts. Girls should wear a modest, sleeved blouse with modest slacks, skirt or walking shorts which measure no more than 3 inches above the knee. No denim or jeans of any variation should be worn.
Cardinal Gibbons High School is not responsible for transportation to and from the conference. the conference will begin at 9:00 am. Please keep in mind that there are 1400 students at Gibbons and the school day starts at 8:05 a.m. The carpool line can be very crowded around 8:00 a.m.! In an effort to avoid parking lot traffic in the afternoon, the conference will end at 2:00 p.m, and we ask that you please make plans to pick your child up at that time. Due to limited parking during school hours, please refrain from parking and walking your child into school. All parking spots are assigned and we do not want a teacher's or student's spot taken, or spots reserved for parents attending the engagement session from 9-10. Conference drop off and pick up will be at the front of the school.
