Lent
What is Lent?
- Lent is one of the five seasons of the Catholic liturgical calendar, along with Advent, Christmas, Easter, and Ordinary Time.
- Lent is a season of preparation that centers on the three pillars of the Lenten season: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
- In contrast to Advent, Lent is a more solemn journey toward Jesus’ passion, death, and resurrection.
Prayerfully consider joining us in one or many of the opportunities we are offering our Gibbons community as we journey together toward Holy Week in which we remember our Lord’s passion, crucifixion, and celebrate His glorious resurrection.
