AP Summer Assignments

Students who have selected an AP class for 2019-2020 that has a summer assignment is responsible to complete it according to the expectations outlines in the assignment.

AP Summer Bootcamps

See below for details on AP Summer bootcamps offered. Information about dates, times, and contact information can be found under each course listed below. Courses not listed will not be offering a bootcamp opportunity this summer. 

 

AP U.S History

The goal is to offer a smooth transition for students moving from AP, Honors or College Preparatory World History  into AP United States History and to provide additional support with the summer assignment for all students. This prep course will introduce students to the high expectations of the course in a structured environment with a relaxed pace.  No grades will be given in the prep course.  Each two-hour session with be divided into 3 sections:

-        An overview of the AP United States History Curriculum Framework

-        An introduction to Historical Thinking Skills set by the College Board

-        Guided summer assignment work sessions with instructor support

Wednesday, June 12                              9:30- 11:30 AM                     Cardinal Gibbons High School

Wednesday, June 19                              9:30- 11:30 AM                     Cardinal Gibbons High School

Wednesday, June 26                             9:30- 11:30 AM                     Cardinal Gibbons High School

Registration will open on May 20th at 9 a.m. and space is limited.

AP Environmental Science

The goal is to offer a smooth transition for students moving from AP, Honors or College Preparatory Chemistry or Physics into AP Environmental Science.  This prep course will introduce students to the high expectations of the course in a structured environment with a relaxed pace.  No grades will be given in the prep course.  The cost covers all THREE sessions, and each will cover one of the following topics:

-        An overview of the AP Environmental Science Curriculum Framework

-        An introduction to Analytical Thinking Skills set by the College Board

-        Guided review of prerequisite knowledge from Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Science

Thursday, June 27                            9:00- 11:00 AM                     Cardinal Gibbons High School
