Remote Learning Day Bell Schedule

If Cardinal Gibbons High School needs to close the campus for unexpected scenarios (i.e., inclement weather, state emergencies, etc.) students and educators will follow the schedule below for remote learning.

10:00-10:45 a.m. 3/7
11:00-11:45 a.m. 4/8
12:00-12:20 p.m. Advisory/Office Hours


Learning Expectations for Students:

  • Display: Students are to have their cameras on, face centered, and Gibbons-approved virtual background or no background. Students should be dressed (dress code not required).
  • Access: Students are required to access Zoom using their Gibbons account, which is accessible via the Gibbons LaunchPad/Classlink.
  • Engaged: Students are expected to be on time and ready to learn when class begins. When class is remote, students should be in a position to engage with the learning expectations: the learning environment should be safe and free from distractions. 
     

Students may have additional work outside of this class time for each class to maximize learning. Educators should limit the additional work time requirement (outside of the 45 minutes for class) to no more than 30 minutes for a total of 75 minutes of class time/homework. Classroom educators may adjust the lesson to complement the previous day or to ensure this class is on pace with the classes that meet on different days.  

If a student’s access to the internet is impacted due to a weather event  (ie.loss of power) the student’s absence is considered excused and he or she will be able to complete any assignment at a later date. 

If a student is not present in the remote platform at the beginning of class, a parent must contact attendance@cghsnc.org explaining the reason for the absence.
