For Semester 2, Gibbons has updated its Plan B Hybrid model which now allows for a four-class rotation each day with a Content Focus Day on Wednesday of a five-day week.
These days include two specific content areas along with opportunities for students to meet with all of their educators by appointment during office hours for support.
Semester 2 Calendar
During fall of 2020, students, parents, and educators submitted survey feedback about the Plan B Hybrid: the pros, cons, and opportunities. The results indicated a preference for a scheduling option that implements a content area focus day each week for instructional enrichment, extension, and support for students similar to our Spring 2020 Covid-19 rotation.
In light of that preference, Gibbons has updated its Plan B Hybrid model which now allows for a four-class rotation each day with a Content Focus Day on Wednesday of a five-day week.
We also provided a survey on the proposed calendar and the results of that survey also indicated many families appreciated a consistent weekly schedule.
There is no focus day on a shortened week. This design results in consistent and equitable instruction with opportunities for more 1:1 support, instructional preparation, and student academic engagement.
These focus days are required attendance instructional days for students and educators.
