Cardinal Gibbons is excited to welcome Anna White Hosea to our school community as our new Director of Advancement.
In this role, Hosea will be responsible for assisting Head of School Jeff Bell in leading and directing the overall fundraising strategy to support and advance our school’s mission. She also will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Advancement Department.
According to Jeff Bell, "Anna brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this key position at Gibbons. Her deep roots in Raleigh as well as her ability to connect with a wide array of constituents and stakeholders, not to mention her belief in the mission of Cardinal Gibbons, make her an ideal match for our school and for our community."
Hosea, who began her role on October 12, brings over 18 years of fundraising experience to the position.
Previously, Hosea provided consulting services to Triangle-area non-profits as an associate at moss + ross, a Raleigh-based company.
Prior to that, Hosea was Director of Development at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, her alma mater, where she served as campaign director for a $15 million endowment campaign. She also was Director of Advancement at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, MD.
"Anna brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this key position at Gibbons. Her deep roots in Raleigh as well as her ability to connect with a wide array of constituents and stakeholders, not to mention her belief in the mission of Cardinal Gibbons, make her an ideal match for our school and for our community," said Jeff Bell.
Asked to share her vision for the Advancement Department Hosea noted: “Because of the great love families and alumni have for Cardinal Gibbons, there is a wonderful opportunity to develop a culture of philanthropy here that will match their interests and desire to help with the strategic priorities of the school. I would like to see our department develop strong relationships with the school’s many constituents, advocate for mission-driven giving opportunities, and build a sustainable fundraising model that values gratitude, authenticity, and generosity."
As for any specific plans Hosea will implement, she noted, “We will continue to ask all Gibbons families to participate in supporting The Cardinal Gibbons Fund, while also making plans to grow our programs for alumni in the coming months.”
Hosea, a Raleigh native, has degrees in English and Art History from Vanderbilt University. She has two sons, Henry and Edward, (pictured with Anna on the homepage of our website) as well as two tuxedo cats.
When not working Hosea said she can be found “doing some sort of activity with my boys like playing tennis, hitting golf balls or biking to the art museum.”
So, when you see Anna in the hallways at school, be sure to give her a warm Gibbons welcome.
