On Wednesday, June 19, Cardinal Gibbons launched Give Gibbons Day, its first-ever, 24-hour, online philanthropic challenge. The day is intended to encourage the entire Gibbons community – from alumni and current parents to parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school – to make an impact on advancing our mission by supporting The Cardinal Gibbons Fund.
Give Gibbons Day, 06.19.19, is all about participation and the power of collective giving, said JP Gregory, Director of Institutional Advancement at Gibbons.“Such philanthropic support impacts our students, empowers our educators to transform lives, and makes a statement not only about our community’s belief in Gibbons but also in the importance of its mission, vision, and values.”
This year, Gregory noted, 365 seniors graduated with an outstanding Catholic education and all of them were impacted in some way by The Cardinal Gibbons Fund. The hope, he added, is at least 365 donors, to represent each graduate, will celebrate their passion for Gibbons by donating the resources needed to meet our school’s most pressing needs and promising opportunities.
Supporters from around the nation, especially alumni, Gregory explained, also have been asked to encourage their peers to give to the green and gold today.
