Science educator awarded professional development opportunity
Science educator Diane Ripollone is one of 12 teachers in the country tapped for a new pilot course offered by the American Meteorological Society.
The professional development program titled “Project Ice: Exploring Paleoclimate Science, Ice Cores, and Climate Change” will take place this summer at Oregon State University.
During the week-long course, participants will gain expertise in weather, water, and climate science and travel to official field trip sites for hands-on experiences.
Ripollone will share her knowledge during a peer training session at a local school.
The course provides three semester hours of graduate credit through Pennsylvania West University (formerly California University of Pennsylvania), a fully accredited state university in Pennsylvania.
