Editor's Note – Though Cardinal Gibbons has moved its celebration of Catholic Schools Week to March; the national commemoration began on January 31 and continues through February 6. We will recognize the national effort with a special series that spotlights the amazing educators at Gibbons and why they chose to work here. The answers they share underscore the theme of this year’s national celebration: “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Each day this week we will share an educator’s answers with you.

Today, February 4, we continue the series, The Gibbons Connection, with College Counselor Mason Hill who joined Gibbons this school year. He is pictured above with students.

Q: Why did you choose to work at Catholic School in general and Gibbons in particular?

A:  I believe many of us are confused with what life is all about. We focus on what we can get out of life, instead of what we can give. To be in an environment that promotes servant-leadership was paramount in my decision to join Gibbons. Along with the opportunity to serve, Gibbons also provides a community of brilliant and committed educators who are determined to help students develop in every aspect of life.

Q: What do you love most about working at Gibbons?

A:  Gibbons provides a plethora of opportunities to connect with students and fellow educators. I love the idea that I can make a positive impact anywhere within the community.

Be sure to check back with us in March!
