Aristotle declared that the study of Rhetoric was the greatest of the arts that promoted virtue. Debate in the 21st Century serves the noble goal of promoting the meaningful exchange of ideas for a new generation of students who observe nothing but verbal combat and invective from the public figures of today. Students will learn forensic strategies designed to address a variety of debate topics in fields of philosophy, politics, and social policy.  We prepare for competitions sponsored by debate leagues in North Carolina and the National Speech and Debate Association.
