Baseball Skills


Dates: June 24-27
Time: 9:00 AM-12 PM
Age: Rising 5th - 7th grade (Group 1) and Rising 8th-9th grade (Group 2)
Tuition: $175

This camp will focus on fundamental baseball skills: pitching mentality and mechanics, fielding, hitting, base running and situational baseball. There will be stations to work on all skills to build the complete ballplayer.

Instructor: Jim Liebler, Head Varsity Baseball Coach Cardinal Gibbons High School 1997-present.

Coach Liebler has been coaching at the high school level for the past 31 years at St. Anthony’s H.S. in South Huntington, NY and Cardinal Gibbons H.S. in Raleigh, NC. As a player, he started for 4 years at Division 1 College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He has been running baseball camps and training individual players in the area for the past 26 years, while serving as the varsity baseball coach at Cardinal Gibbons HS. He has also coached with the State Games of North Carolina (1999-2003) and worked for USA Baseball as a trials coach helping to form the 14U Team USA group for the summer of 2010. He has recorded over 400 wins to date as the Gibbons varsity baseball coach along with numerous conference titles and conference coach of the year awards. As of the spring 2021, multiple former players are currently playing in professional baseball for MLB and over 6 are involved with D1 baseball programs. Recent alumni include 2019 National Champion, Stephen Scott, at Vanderbilt University and Max Schrock currently on the 40 man roster for the Cincinnati Reds

Equipment required: baseball glove, hat, bat, pants, cleats, sneakers.
