Camp emphasis will focus on teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse through small station work. The skills we will focus on will include basic stick work, shooting, offense movement through small sided play and defensive positioning as well as game like scrimmages!

Patricia Alexander was named Head Coach at Cardinal Gibbons in November of 2014. As the Head Coach of the Crusaders Coach Alexander has accumulated a 174-19 record, which includes 8 appearances in the NCHSAA State Championship game, and 7 NCHSAA State Championships, most recently in 2024. In 2019 Coach Alexander was awarded the Doris Howard Female Coach of the Year Award by the NCHSAA; For the female coach contributing the most to High School Athletics. Coach Alexander was also awarded the NFHS National Coach of the year for women’s lacrosse in 2023.
Prior to her arrival at Cardinal Gibbons Coach Alexander amassed a 45-22 record over 4 years as the Head Coach at Needham Broughton; in her final year leading them to a 18-3 record and the NCHSAA Regional Semi-Finals. Coach Alexander has played an instrumental role in the growth of club and high school girls’ lacrosse in the Triangle region. Patricia has coached youth club teams with the Carolina Fever and Ultimate Lacrosse, helping grow those clubs into leading organizations in the Southeast. She also has led multiple camps and clinics to continue to grow the game of lacrosse in the triangle area, for both club teams as well as park and recreation groups.
As a head coach for 2 NCHSAA schools in the Raleigh area Coach Alexander has amassed an overall record of 219-44 which includes 11 conference championships, 9 conference coach of the years, 8 NCHSAA Eastern division championships, 7 NCHSAA State Championships.
A 1994 graduate from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland, Patricia was a four year starter on defense under renowned coach Diane Geppi Aikens. She earned captain and MVP honors in both her Junior and Senior years. As a senior she was awarded All-American and All-Maryland honors after leading her team to a final four appearance and a #1 ranking.
After graduating from Loyola in 1994 Patricia made the USA Developmental lacrosse team. She also became an assistant coach at the collegiate level coaching for her Alma Mater from 1994-1996. Patricia is an Educator here at Cardinal Gibbons working in Athletics and Spiritual Life. A native of Charlottesville, Va Patricia now lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, Luther and their two children, Taylor and Grant.
